Minnesota State Fair Memorial Weekend Preview

Way back in May over Memorial Day weekend, the Minnesota State Fair had a preview of the fair weekend. I think our tickets were for Thursday afternoon/evening, the first day of the event. I scored tickets easily from my Friends of the Fair membership, making the membership very worthwhile once again. (And yes, I am way, way behind on posts. That's life! I am documenting things for myself more than anything. Plus, this was a first time, unusual event.)

We were able to park at the fairgrounds and entry was pretty quick and easy actually. We wore a couple layers and bundled up against the light rain.
Fresh French Fries were stop #1. So good! Huge line, but it went quickly!
Sausage/ brat from Mancini's Al Fresco
This was the 2 block long line for print pups. I waited awhile and gave up. John got us Big Fat Bacon while I stood in line and did not move at all. Pronto Pups are not with a hour plus long wait.

egg roll on a stick from Que Viet
Last stop, was Sweet Martha's cookies to take home, of course. Delicious as always.

It was rainy and chilly, but it was fun to walk around the fairgrounds and sample a few of the fair foods. Most of the lines went pretty quickly, but we just skipped those that looked like they were not moving much. We accidentally picked the worst day weather-wise as the other days were much nicer, but we were going out of town for the rest of the weekend and had no choice on the day to visit.
