Big Bore BBQ

We made the drive out to Hanover to check out Big Bore BBQ. We had been hearing a bit of buzz about it online here and there and it is not a bad drive when it is nice out.

It is a large restaurant with a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. We arrived late afternoon and there was no wait at all to be seated.

John had the tri tip sandwich with house fries. The meat was tender and juicy and the au jus was a nice addition. The fries are sort of a cross between fries and chips and very good if you like a crispy french fry.
I had the brisket. You order by weight, so I got one pound, so I would have leftovers to take home. The meat was tender and juicy and had a nice smoke ring. My side was the Big Bore Brussels sprouts tossed in house bourbon sauce, finished with bacon bits. They were crispy and I liked the sweet and spicy sauce.

The service was quick, she kept our beverages filled as needed, though we did wait awhile for our food. The menu is very extensive for a BBQ place and there are a lot of interesting options for sides. It is a bit far to visit regularly for us, but I'd like to go back and try more items on the menu sometime.
