We tried the newish North Loop Galley in Minneapolis awhile ago. I did not realize it was right on Washington Avenue and next door to Bunker's and Freehouse. Once we figured out the location,, we realized easy parking was available in the back section of the same building, which is nice.
There are four different food windows Ono Hawaiian, Wrecktangle Pizza, Thigh Times Birdhouse, Soul FU and a bar. You simply order at the window and the food is brought out to you. Silverware is available at stations around the dining room and water and glasses are on each table. Additional drinks can be ordered when you order your food or from the bar.
I ordered from Ono Hawaiian Plates. I had a combo plate with kale pork, poke and macaroni salad. The poke was excellent and the rice was tasty also. The pork was plentiful and had very tender. It was a ton of food and I had leftovers.
John ordered rom Thigh Times Birdhouse and had the tato tenders and fries. The fries are a cross between potato chips and fries and were really delicious. Just the right amount of crispy and softer bits. The tenders are called tato tenders because the breading has potato in it.
We enjoyed everything we tried and once we understood the process, we found it to be a quick and easy meal. I'd like to go back and try the pizza place as it has gotten great reviews form local media. I simply wasn't in the mood for pizza on this visit.
