My friend Kelly and I enjoyed a tropical getaway to Cancun in February. We booked an all inclusive because the price was right and we really didn't feel like doing much other than sitting by the pool and relaxing and that was pretty much all we did.

I forgot to take room photos on arrival, so ignore all of our stuff. The room was nice and the beds were comfortable, although the pillows were pretty flat and useless.
The bathroom was a but unusual as it was all glass walls, but it worked fine. The shower and toilet were private at least.
The lobby entertainment...lady playing a key-tar! So retro!
We had dinner the first night at the Mexican restaurant called Maxal. The drinks were great and the food was OK overall. I wasn't wowed by any of the dining options but everything was fine.
The only dining option at breakfast was the buffet, Vela, which we visited every morning. It was fine and there was plenty to pick from. The omelets and breakfast burritos were made to order and very good. Forgot to take photos of those items though.
It wasn't difficult to secure chairs by the pool. The resort wasn't packed, but it wasn't empty either. There was a mixture of tourists and convention goers throughout our stay.
We really enjoyed the drinks at the lobby bar each evening before dinner. They made a good espresso martini.
The singing chef from the Italian restaurant, La Luce. We had dinner here our second night and went back our last night as well.
beach view from the quiet pool.
lunch/snack from the poolside taqueria
Our third night we had dinner at Auma, the steakhouse.
My filet was actually quite good. Very tender! The backed potato was a bit odd as it seemed to be boiled rather than baked, but it tasted fine.
bracelets were also the room key, which was quite handy
We enjoyed the mezcal mango margaritas a lot!
and the martinis...
We went back to the the steakhouse for our fourth dinner.
Lunch at the asian poolside restaurant called Sunan. The food was not great, but the sushi roll was ok.
hola iguana!
Our last night was at the Italian restaurant, La Luce, but we were seated outside on the patio.
las day views....

We had a great trip overall. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the resort. We did not have any issues getting reservations at any of the restaurants for dinner once we gained access to the hotel's app/website. We went to a lounge at the airport before going to the gate for our flight. Access was via my American Express Platinum card, at no additional charge. Our flight home was on time and we had an entire exit row to ourselves which was nice.
